Chenar (Persian: چنار, also Romanized as Chenār, Chanār, and Chinār)[3] is a city in Zavin District of Kalat County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,566 in 709 households, when it was a village in Zavin Rural District).[4] The following census in 2011 counted 3,509 people in 815 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,597 people in 943 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2] After the census, the village of Chenar was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
