The Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz (transl. The Front For The Protection of Respect of Prophet) is a Pakistani Barelvi organisation and a group of 20 Pakistani Parties that united against the ideology of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.[1][2] It was founded by Barelvi scholar Sarfaraz Ahmed Naeemi and presided by Munir Yousufi[3] in 1990.[4][5][6]

Activism

  • The organisation supported Mumtaz Qadri, the assassin of then-Governor Salman Taseer.[7][8] This protest was also attended by large number of Deobandi and Wahhabi Muslims.[9]
  • The Organisation's Darul Ifta or Fatwa department issued a Fatwa that if war starts against India, it is mandatory to fight for Pakistan.[10]
  • In 2011, initiated a hate campaign against a Pakistani girl accused of blasphemy.[11]
