Suncoast is an upcoming American coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Laura Chinn in her feature directorial debut and starring Woody Harrelson, Laura Linney and Nico Parker.[2] Chinn's screenplay was included in the 2020 Black List.[3] It is also based on Chinn’s life experience from the early 2000s.[4]

The film is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2024, followed by a streaming release in the United States on February 9, 2024 on Hulu, by Searchlight Pictures.

A semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story about a young woman dealing with her brother's serious illness.

Production

In August 2022, it was announced that Harrelson, Linney and Parker will star in the film, which will be distributed by Searchlight Pictures.[5]

Principal photography began in Charleston, South Carolina on September 20, 2022.[6] Filming halted later that month due to Hurricane Ian.[7][8] Filming resumed in Moncks Corner, South Carolina in October 2022.[9][10]

The film completed post-production in late 2023.[11]

Release

The film is scheduled to premiere in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2024, followed by a streaming release in United States on February 9, 2024 on Hulu by Searchlight Pictures.[12][13]
