In Chilean government administration a seremi is a director of a regional ministry secretariat.[1] It is as shortening of "Secretario Regional Ministerial" (lit. Regional Ministry Secretary).[1] The word "seremía" is used for the building itself housing the regional secretariat of a ministry.[2]
