Ravi Punia[1] (born 7 February 1993) is an Indian Professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for I-League club Rajasthan United.[2][3] He has also represented Haryana in Santosh Trophy.

Born in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, Punia went to Army Public School in Hisar, and took up football through representing the school team.[4] After appearing with Army Public School, he was selected to play for the district team of Hisar; While got experience of playing in numerous states in India, winning the inter-university football championship in 2016.[5][6]

Punia is employed by the Ministry of Labour and Employment – Government of India in ESIC (Employees' State Insurance Corporation).[5] He also represented its association football section in all-India and public-sector tournaments.[5]

Club career

Punia began his senior club football career in Bharat in 2016, team from Pune that went on to compete in 2014–15 season of I-League.[5] He later moved to Xavier's United in 2017 and then got an opportunity of captainship during his tenure at Jaipur's Vijay FC, alongside playing for teams including Mewar Club.[5]

He made his debut for Rajasthan United FC during I-League Qualifiers 2021, later Rajasthan United FC qualified for I-League 2021–22 season.[7]
