Physiography of Rio Grande do Sul

The physiography of Rio Grande do Sul is a division of the state of Rio Grande do Sul first formalized by Amyr Borges Fortes in 1959. The state is organized into the following physiographic subdivisions:^[1]^[2]

Coast
Central Depression
Missions (Neikolonie in the regional Riograndenser Hunsrückisch language)
Campanha
Southeastern Sierra
Southeastern Slope
Upper Uruguay
Campos de Cima da Serra
Middle Plateau
Lower Northeastern Slope
Upper Northeastern Slope
