Paras District is one of six districts of the province Cangallo in Peru.[1]

Geography

One of the highest mountains of the district is Chiqllarasu at 5,167 m (16,952 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (85.65%) learnt to speak in childhood, 14.16% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
