Menuka Poudel (Nepali: मेनुका पौडेल; born 16 October 1998) is a Nepali singer and one of the top 11 contestants in the Indian Idol.[1] Her first debut song was Dashain Aayo Tihar Aayo, which was released in 2017. In 2023, she made her debut in Indian cinema as a playback singer with the song "Sooraj Hi Chhaon Banke" from the film Saalar.[2][3]

Menuka Poudel was born on October 16, 1998, in Jhapa, Nepal.

Musical career

Menuka started her musical career in Kathmandu in 2015, she joined Sirjana College of Fine Arts in Kathmandu to study music.[4] She made her first debut with the song Dashain Aayo Tihar Aayo. In 2018, she reached the top 11 on the Indian reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.[5][6] In 2023, she became the top 15 contestants in the Indian Idol, which gained more popularity among Indian and Nepalese audiences.[7] After her popularity, she got the chance to sing for the movie Saalar, and she made her debut in Indian cinema as a playback singer with the song "Sooraj Hi Chhaon Banke".[8]
