Maxim Healthcare Services (“Maxim”) is a privately held national home healthcare company headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. The company was founded in 1988 and provides, skilled nursing, physical rehabilitation, personal care, respite care, and behavioral care for individuals with chronic and acute illnesses and disabilities.

History 
STAT Medical Staffing, Inc. was founded in September of 1988 in response to a national nursing shortage to provide per diem staffing services. The company changed its name to MEDCALL Medical Staffing Services Inc. in October of 1988.    

As the home healthcare industry evolved, the company expanded its services to include private-duty nursing and, in 1993, changed its name to Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. and began to grow into the national homecare provider that it is today.

In 2007, Maxim Healthcare Services earned Accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), recognizing the company’s commitment to quality in private-duty nursing and home healthcare programs. In 2011, Maxim created Maxim’s Caregiver of the Year program [1], acknowledging the dedication and excellence of their nurses and caregivers who best align with the company values. 

In 2014, Maxim earned a Best Compliance Practice Award for its compliance and ethics education and training program. The company earned three 2015 Best Compliance Practice Awards in the areas of field auditing and monitoring, claims testing, and issues management. 

On January 1, 2021, Maxim’s staffing division formed its own corporation, Maxim Healthcare Staffing Services, Inc., under a holding company, making it a sister company to Maxim Healthcare Services.  

As of 2023, Maxim Healthcare Services operates in 37 different states across the U.S. With more than 150 office locations, the company serves 43,000 patients annually, reflecting its commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare solutions.
