Tay Foo Wei (Chinese: 郑福威; pinyin: Zhèng Fúwēi, born 4 June 1982), better known as Kurt Tay, is a Singaporean online personality and wrestling enthusiast.

Tay is known to refer to himself as "Superstar Celebrity Kurt Tay".

Tay first came to the public eye when he auditioned for Singapore Idol in 2006, and would be later known for carrying a World Wrestling Entertainment belt and participating in a street fight.[1]

At the age of 27, Tay travelled to Bangkok, Thailand to have breast implants.[2]

In June 2019, Tay was fired from his job as a security officer at the Bank of Singapore after a member of the public emailed the Bank of Singapore with regards to his "inappropriate" online activities, including an instance where he used the bank's premises to film an explicit video about his interest in BDSM as well as some pornographic content. [3]

In July 2022, Tay met up with one of his "haters", later identified as Loh Jia Hung, for a sparring match. They first met at Yishun MRT station before proceeding to spar at one of the void decks in the vicinity.[4][5] This resulted in Tay being put under a police probe.[6]

Charges

On 1 November 2023, Tay was charged in the State Courts of Singapore for allegedly distributing an intimate photo and video of a woman performing a sex act without the woman's consent.[7] He returned to court on 16 November to face the charges.[8]

On 11 December, it was announced that Tay would be facing more charges. However, as the prosecution was not ready, the case was adjourned for four weeks to January 2024. Tay also hired a lawyer, Rohit Kumar Singh from Regal Law.[1]

On multiple occasions, Tay was heckled when he emerged from the State Courts' front doors.[9][1][8]

Personal life

In 2013, Tay married Kim Ngan, a mail-order bride from Vietnam. They had a son in 2018 and a daughter in 2021.[10]
