Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple is a Hindu temple in Frisco, Texas. The temple was opened in 2015 by its founder, Hindu pontiff, Ganapathi Sachchidananda.[1]

History

Construction on the 34,000 square feet temple started in 2007 and completed its first phase in 2009, with the rest of the main temple in 2015.[2] The main deity of the Hindu temple is Hanuman. The temple is known for its spiritual atmosphere and is a place where devotees come to seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman for success and fulfillment of their wishes ("karya siddhi" translates to "fulfillment of desires"). The temple opened on July 23, 2015, and a week later, on August 1, the temple was the venue for a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous chanting with over 24 hours of recitation of Hanuman Chalisa.[3] The Chant was led by Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji.

Facilities

Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple (KSHT) cost $11 million and regularly offers worship services along with classed in Yoga, Carnatic Music, Indian Dancing and Indian Chanting as well as classes on Hinduism such as popular Bhagavad Gita classes, and new additions such as Sundara Kanda, and Saundarya Lahari. The Temple also offers language learning classes for Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Gujarati.[4] The Temple also has a prayer hall, a cafeteria, a dining hall, an auditorium and a stage. The Temple's most notable feature is its 72 foot tall "rajagopuram", a tower designed to allow sunlight to pass through from one end to the other.[5]
