Hurwitz scheme

In algebraic geometry, the Hurwitz scheme ${\mathcal {H}}_{d,g}$ is the scheme parametrizing pairs ( $C,\pi :C\to \mathbf {P} ^{1}$ ) where C is a smooth curve of genus g and $π$ has degree d.^[1]
