Horsham District Council in West Sussex, England, is elected every four years.

Political control

The first elections to the council were held in 1973, initially acting as a shadow authority before coming into its full powers on 1 April 1974. Political control of the council since 1973 has been held by the following parties:

Following the resignation of Cllr Jonathan Chowen as leader on 10th January 2023, Cllr Tony Hogben served as acting leader until Cllr Claire Vickers was elected on 2 February 2023.

After the May 2023 local elections , Cllr Claire Vickers lost her seat as the Conservatives lost control of the council for the first time in twenty years. Her deputy, Cllr Phillip Circus served as acting leader until the first full council of the municipal year. On Wednesday 24th May Cllr Martin Boffey was elected as Leader. He is the first Liberal Democrat Leader of the Council in twenty-five years and the fifth leader of the council in two years.
