Guangzhou E-Power Football Club (Chinese: 广州影豹足球俱乐部; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Yǐngbào Zúqiú Jùlèbù) is a Chinese semi-professional football club based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, that competes in CMCL, the fourth tier of Chinese football. Guangzhou E-Power plays its home matches at various grounds across Guangzhou, most notably at the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Central Stadium, located within Panyu District.[1]
History
Guangzhou E-Power Football Club was incorporated on March 3, 2023, and is jointly funded by Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Baiyunshan Cultural Industry Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Port Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Baiyuexin Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Yuexiu Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Construction Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Vanlead Group Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Science and Technology Finance Group Co., Ltd. under Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group. GAC is the largest shareholder with 19% of the shares, while Guangzhou Medicine, Guangzhou Port and Yuexiu each have 15%. The three remaining shareholders each have 12%.
Subsequently, Guangzhou E-Power recruited players, including former Chinese international Xiao Zhi, former Meizhou Hakka player Liang Xueming, while former Guangzhou City players Zeng Chao, Zhou Yuchen, Wang Peng, Wen Yongjun, and Wu Chengru, among others, have joined the club.
On April 4, 2023, Guangzhou E-Power appointed Li Bing as head coach, Li Sheng as executive head coach, and Feng Feng as assistant coach.
On April 15, 2023, Guangzhou E-Power began to play its first season in the CMCL.[2][3]
