Chandler Mackenzie Seagle (born May 23, 1996) is an American professional baseball catcher who is a free agent. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2023 for the San Diego Padres.

Career

Seagle attended New Bern High School in New Bern, North Carolina. In 2014, his senior year, the Sun Journal named him their high school baseball player of the year.[1] He enrolled at Appalachian State University and played college baseball for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The Padres selected him in the 30th round, with the 888th overall selection, of the 2017 MLB draft.[2][3]

The Padres promoted Seagle to the major leagues on September 30, 2023,[4] and he made his debut that day as a pinch hitter.[5] Following the season on November 2, Seagle was removed from the 40-man roster and sent outright to the Triple–A El Paso Chihuahuas.[6] He elected free agency on November 6.[7]
