Bob van Luijt (born November 15, 1985) is a technology entrepreneur, technologist,[1] and new media artist[2] from the Netherlands. He is the co-founder of Weaviate and the chairman of the Creative Software Foundation.

In March 2016[3] Van Luijt started the open source vector search engine Weaviate.[4][5][6][7] He has published[8] and lectured[9] about (open-source) software business models [10] and the positioning of broadly applicable infrastructure software (e.g., databases and search engines).[11]

Van Luijt received a bachelor's degree from Artez Institute of the Arts. After completing his studies he worked on projects including his album The Core.[12] He collaborated on harpist Anne Vanschothorst's album Ek is eik.,[13] with Billy Martin and Florian Weber[14] and with Yonga Sun and Cuong Vu.[15]

Control(human, data, sound) (CHDS)[16] was his first tech-based artwork and was selected as an awards Finalist for CREATE 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, in the category art+technology.[17]
