Blue Cloud Ventures is a Miami-based venture capital fund specializing in software-as-a-service, infrastructure, and open source software companies.[1][2] The fund focuses primarily on growth stage companies with annual revenue between $10 and $50 million that are expected to reach an exit within three years.[3] Blue Cloud is noted for offering a relatively high degree of flexibility with regards to financing terms, including the exit timeline, board representation, and the amount of funding.[4]

Founding and Partnering

Blue Cloud was founded by Rami Rahal[5] and Mir Arif in 2012.[6] Both were working at Madison Park Group, a New York investment bank, which Arif was leading when Rahal, then 25 years old,[7] proposed the idea to him.[2] MassMutual is a contributor to at least two of Blue Cloud's funds.[8][9]

Investments

As of 2018, Blue Cloud had invested in at least 24 companies.[2] These investments include AFS Technologies,[10] BeyondTrust, later acquired by Veritas Capital,[11] BTI Systems,[5] CareCloud,[12] Cityworks, [13] Clari, an AI based sales service provider, [14] CloudBees,[15] Conductor, an SEO tool developer which was later acquired by WeWork, [16][17] Druva,[18] Doctor on Demand,[8] Evident ID,[19] Iterable,[20] Jazz.co (formerly Resumator) [21][22][23] Hireology,[24] Lattice Engines,[25] Lightbend,[26] NGINX, which was later acquired by F5 Networks,[27][28] OneLogin,[8] Reval,[29] Scribble Live,[30] Tapad,[5] Vidyo, and Wrike.[8]
