The 2026 Texas gubernatorial election is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2026, to elect the governor of Texas. Because Texas does not have gubernatorial term limits in its Constitution, incumbent Republican Governor Greg Abbott is eligible to run for re-election to a fourth term but has not yet stated if he will do so.
