Rolled over

I rolled these over, not that I thought that they were bad, rather I wanted to use the snowman photo for January, and still use the MD-68 photo in February. The other was held over to avoid two NM hooks in the same month.

  • Disambiguation sign posted in advance of the MD 68 interchange on westbound I-70 near Clear Spring
Disambiguation sign posted in advance of the MD 68 interchange on westbound I-70 near Clear Spring
...that signs were placed on westbound Interstate 70 to reduce motorist confusion between Maryland Route 68 and Interstate 68, which meet I-70 17 miles (27 km) apart in Washington County, Maryland?  VC  05:07, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
  • ... that there are about 2,980 miles (4,800 km) of U.S. Routes in the U.S. state of New Mexico, including U.S. Route 491, which was formerly U.S. Route 666?
    • Alt: ... that the Devils Highway makes up part of the 2,980 miles (4,800 km) of U.S. Routes in the U.S. state of New Mexico? --Admrboltz (talk) 18:45, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
    • The factoid of US491 being former US666 has been done in DYK in a few formats (both serious and as part of April fools Day). How about a slight tweak to make the hook fresh, like "... that U.S. Routes in New Mexico include the Mother Road and the Devil's Highway? (the target article would have to be expanded to cover both of these facts) Dave (talk) 19:20, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
      • That works, but I would also suggest that on the actual DYK page as well, as I have it up there as well. --Admrboltz (talk) 19:32, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

New nominations

Dough4872 17:52, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
  • ...that residents of Seattle have disparagingly referred to the Tacoma Spur as "the road to nowhere" and likened its exit ramps to tentacles? --Admrboltz (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
  • ...that the section of Interstate 30 in Texas between Fort Worth and Dallas, called the "Tom Landry Freeway", was renamed the Tom Landry Super Bowl Highway between June 15, 2010 and February 6, 2011 in honor of Super Bowl XLV being held at nearby Cowboys Stadium?
